Tribute to My Father on His Birth Centenary
My father
1897 - 1986
April 28 (15th Baishakh), 1997 was my father's birth centenary. I share the same birthday with my father. I turned 56 on that day.
There were festivities going on in Santiniketan, India to celebrate the occasion. As usual, I did not go to India. I wrote the following poem on that day to pay tribute to my father.
A lot of Bengalis, specially people in the academic line, know my father. Those who can read Bengali will perhaps agree that the above poem is a fitting tribute to him.
